As is his tradition, Simon Porte Jacquemus showed away from the usual fashion-week schedule, this time choosing to take the fashion pack (which included Victoria Beckham) to the salt mountains of the Camargue Park in Arles, Provence to check out his new collection. Entitled ‘Le Papier’, every piece was in white or cream, while linen dominated the collection, helping it to blend perfectly into the breathtaking setting. This week, Marc Jacobs returned to the New York Public Library to present his autumn/winter 2022 collection, choosing again to show away from the official NYFW schedule. The designer recruited supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid to walk in the show, where they strutted their stuff in enormous platforms, elbow-length gloves, layered knitwear and duvet dresses. The collection was inspired by a quote from German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche: We have art in order not to die of the truth. Wedding hairstyles with middle parts: Middle parts are here to stay and we love them more than ever. In 2022, we’ll see middle parts on voluminous soft waves, sleek updos, beach bridal hairstyles and everything in between. We love to play on symmetry when it comes to middle parts. Wear a headband set up high with a strong curve (i.e. a pearl headband) or a crown with a peak positioned right in the middle. If you’ve fallen in love with a loose or sleek updo, accessorise with a headpiece set low and positioned to the back of the head. Statement earrings are a must if you’d like to skip the veil and headpiece.

That did not mean however, that we didn’t see some digital presentations, as many designers continued to adopt less traditional ways of presenting their designs, whether through imagery, film or something else unique. However, the emphasis was definitely on the traditional catwalk presentation. With the shows now officially wrapped up for another season, scroll down to see every major moment that took place on the catwalk. From New York, London, Milan and Paris, here is what autumn/winter 2022 is looking like.

On the other end of the colour spectrum and sitting in a far quieter zone is a rise in interesting, ultra-luxe but ultimately very wearable wardrobe staples. This doesn’t translate as boring, and I’m not talking about basic tees that cost a fortune, more low-key staples with interesting twists: a trench coat with a unique label, a co-ord set with quirky buttons, a pair of tailored trousers in a more unusual silky-satin finish.

One of the most wearable trends to come out of this round of runways was the pleated skirt, and while there was a light scattering of mini incarnations reminiscent of this summer’s favourite tennis skirt, for SS22 it’s all about the pleated midi. Other than that, there really are no rules. Printed, plain, colourful, monochrome, paired with knits or paired with a bralette – as long as it’s pleated then you’re bang on the money. Strapped accents have been gaining popularity over recent seasons, but it’s set to really take hold from summer 2022 onwards. Whether it’s a top with multi-straps across the shoulders and décolletage, trousers with a strapped waistband criss-crossing across the stomach – or, indeed, both – you’ll have to forgo any worries of awkward tan lines next season and embrace the straps. If you’re tired of going out and finding someone else with the exact same outfit, or if you’re looking for a new, fresh look that nobody else has then you’re at the right place. We offer the latest in women’s fashion from the high-streets at a price you can afford.

Jen Atkin, hairstylist and founder of Ouai Haircare, is loving textured lobs this season. She says clients like Hailey Baldwin Bieber are asking for short, shaggy cuts. “Tell your stylist you want a lot of movement and texture, especially toward the ends and in the fringe,” she explains. To get the ’70s shaggy look, she uses Ouai Wave Spray and lets the hair “do its thing.” She tames flyaways and adds moisture with Ouai Finishing Creme.

Presenting perhaps the tiniest mini skirts we have ever seen, Miuccia Prada’s first Miu Miu collection back on the catwalk was all about officewear, but in a very back-to-school way. Low-slung waistbands and extremely short hemlines were the order of the day, with plenty of layered shirting and knitwear. Entitled ‘Comic Strip’, Lanvin’s SS22 collection was described by the house as a reconsideration of the meaning of Lanvin – its signs and signifiers, its fundamental definition. A Lanvin that resonates with the 2020s to the same degree that Lanvin defined the 1920s – a dialogue between past and future. The collection by Bruno Sialelli is a tribute to the house’s identity, its ideology, remixed for where the world is today. Find extra info at entertainment blog.
