Top Reading to Gatwick taxi transfers

Best Reading to Gatwick taxi transfers? The Peugeot Traveller is another large van-based MPV that’s built alongside the Citroen SpaceTourer and Vauxhall Vivaro Life. Like its stablemates, it majors on value for money and ease of use. There are four models to choose from: Active and Allure versions are aimed at family car buyers, while Business models are geared more towards the executive and chauffeur market and have fewer seats and more luxury kit. Unless you are planning to shuttle VIPs to airports and hotels, the standard models will make the most sense for you. The 1.5 and 2.0-litre diesel engines are quiet and efficient. Peugeot claims that every model will exceed 50+mpg and you get the choice of manual or fully automatic gearboxes. Getting in and out of the Traveller is easy, thanks to its twin side sliding doors, while its split rear tailgate allows you to access the rear loadspace without lifting the tailgate – something you don’t get with the Volkswagen Caravelle or Ford Tourneo Custom.

A riverside icon on London’s South Bank dedicated to modern and contemporary art. It’s the younger, hipper sibling to Pimlico’s Tate Britain. To be inspired and challenged – even by the architecture. Tate Modern is based in what was Bankside Power Station. Its 2016 Switch House extension added gallery space and incredible 360-degree views of the London skyline. Step inside to discover works by the likes of Warhol, Matisse and Bourgeois, all part of the free permanent collection. The Tate Boat (decorated with Damien Hirst dots) runs up and down the Thames between Tate Modern and Tate Britain every 30 minutes during gallery opening hours. Just tap in and out with an Oyster or contactless card as you would on the tube or bus.

Head for one of the airport bars and grab a drink. This is great for people watching if you are travelling alone, and can be great fun. Just relax with a drink and help to pass the time. If you are feeling sleepy, you can always crash out for a few hours at a YOTEL pod or next-generation cabin. Not every airport has these but Heathrow at Terminal 4 has one. You can stay overnight for £56. There are also lots of other things to help pass the time such as visiting a spa, getting a massage or even visiting an art gallery. Now, who said airports were boring?

These smaller spaces can be ideal to stop and catch your breath as you travel around London, take a phone call or eat the lunch you grabbed on the go. They may not enough grass to kick a football in, but they will likely have a nice quiet bench underneath a shady tree. You will often see office workers out enjoying these space on their lunch breaks. Some of the biggest and best “nonroyal” spaces in London are owned and maintained by local councils, through local resident council taxes. These include picture-perfect Victoria Park, which is a wonderful space to enjoy, should you find yourself northeast of the city, rather than in the west where you will find the Royal Parks. Victoria Park maintains a lovely village feeling, especially around the Grove Road north entrance. If you’re visiting on a Sunday, the nearby Hemmingway pub does a lovely Sunday roast.

Gatwick has a few great hotels within the airport at reasonable price points, but one of my favourites is definitely the Yotel in the South Terminal. You basically walk straight out of arrivals and there’s a lift on your left that brings you down to Yotel. It’s half Japanese pod hotel, half spaceship! The colour theme is white and purple and the lighting is soft and muted. Free Coffee, tea and bottled water is included in the room price and can be gotten from reception 24/7. The shower head is rainfall (dream). The free wifi is great. Room service is available if you’re feeling lazy, though there are plenty of options to choose from in the terminal. The rooms are compact, but that matches the price point and there’s still plenty of room for a suitcase.

You really don’t want to find yourself in a hurry to catch your flight at Heathrow Airport. Don’t assume that because you’ve already got your boarding pass printed off and you’re only traveling with hand luggage you don’t need to arrive early. That may be the appropriate approach for smaller airports, it’s not for Heathrow. You need to consider the traffic on the roads and delays on public transport. According to Heathrow Airport’s website, if you’re traveling on a long-haul flight, you need to allow at least 3 hours before your departure. Whereas, if you’re flying on a domestic or European flight, you’ll need a minimum of 2 hours before your scheduled departure. You may not be able to breeze through security as in other airports. You need to allow for delays and disruptions along the way. Lastly, if you’re departing from terminal 5, remember the terminal is divided into 3 separate buildings. After security, you need to make your way to either 5A, 5B or 5C. Find more information on https://www.airporttransfersonline.co.uk/.
